Julia Willand

Julia Willand was born in Germany and completed most of her schooling in South Africa. She holds both German and South African citizenships. She ended her schooling with an A-level diploma in Cologne, Germany, and subsequently studied law in Freiburg and Berlin. She achieved her qualification as an attorney at law in Berlin in the year 1999.

Julia Willand has worked in organisations such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and the Zentralstelle für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. During the course of the GTZ-Project "Law Reform in Latin America" she advised the Ministry of Law in La Paz, Bolivia.

In the year 2000 Julia Willand joined a consulting firm in Cape Town, South Africa, where she founded and headed the immigration department. In May 2005 she started the specialised immigration and consulting company IMCOSA.

Julia Willand is a registered Immigration Practitioner with the Department of Home Affairs. Since April 2003 she has been a member of the national Immigration Advisory Board, which advises the Minister of Home Affairs, as well as a co-director of the Association of Immigration Practitioners of South Africa (AIPSA) until 2006.

Julia is also a co-director of the non-profit organisation Nala - Partners for Entrepreneurship, which aims to foster entrepreneurship development and inter-cultural dialogue.

In August 2004 Julia represented South Africa in beach volleyball at the Olympic Games in Athens. This was the first time an African beach volleyball team had qualified for the Olympics.


Nicola van Rensburg

Nicola van Rensburg was born in Cape Town, South Africa and is of English and Afrikaans descent. She completed her schooling in the town of Stellenbosch and began pursuing a degree in Human Resources in 2004. Passion for the legal field soon followed and she is currently completing an LLB through the University of South Africa.

After beginning her career in the legal department at a national labour outsourcing company, Nicola spent many years in the field of staff and administration management before joining IMCOSA's team in early 2008. Her legal knowledge, diligence and dedication allowed Nicola to smoothly move into the roles of Senior Consultant, Immigration Practitioner and subsequently to Head of Consulting for IMCOSA in South Africa.

In view of her considerable experience in the immigration sector and her formidable performance and service in the industry, she is an invaluable member of IMCOSA's management and consulting team.


Stefan Willand

Stefan Willand was born in Germany and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds both the German and South African citizenships.

After school he moved to Germany to study law in Heidelberg and to complete his articles in Duisburg and Berlin.

Between 1998 and 2000 Stefan worked for a law firm in Berlin, but the tug at the heart from South Africa and the surroundings he grew up in was ultimately too strong. He made the move to Cape Town with his wife Julia in the course of 2000 and together they have not looked back since. Stefan worked as manager and director in the IT services industry for several years after his return to South Africa before joining the IMCOSIS from 2008.
